Why not buy something off the shelf?
Often you should, and we will say so. Off-the-shelf wins when your process looks like everyone else in your industry. It stops winning when the thing that makes your business work is the thing the product cannot express, and you end up running the real process in a spreadsheet beside it. That spreadsheet is the signal.
What happens to the data we already have?
It comes with you. Spreadsheets, exports from an old system, even a paper book that gets captured. We import it, check it against what you expect to see, and fix what does not match before go-live rather than after.
Can our team add to it later without you?
Yes. The repository and the hosting accounts are yours, it is built on common, well-supported tools rather than exotic ones, and the code is written to be read by whoever comes next. We are not interested in being the only people who can change it.
How do we know it will still work when we double in size?
Because the database is designed for it before the first screen is drawn, and because the systems we have already built are running real stock, real orders and real money today. Growth breaks software at the data layer, not the interface.
